Most conservatives are misunderstood. I refer to the "tea-party" , "birthers", and "far right" groups, which we see on a daily basis, doing something to bring down the President. Most people believe that these are nut-jobs or downright hateful individuals but I have a different take on their personalities.
They appear on Fox News to show their support of Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity, and often times end up making absolutely no sense in their speech. Others like liberals Keith Olbermann and Rachael Maddow on MSNBC shun them as Right Wing nut-jobs and also label them the worst people in the world, but that is solely because these conservatives are not scrutinized with a scientific, and philosophical eye. I am here to prove their utter innocence and relative intelligence.
Where we first fail to understand them is their intelligence. Most people perceive that they are stupid because they speak various disagreeable statements. On the contrary, these people are normal, like you and me. They are intelligent in their domains and work hard to achieve set goals for their lives. They sit amongst us at our jobs and schools, and compete on an equally mental level. They are nice people to themselves and certain others.
The reason they are despised is because of the very subtle "hate" shown towards our current President, Barack Obama. I put quotation marks on the word "hate" because I don't believe that that is the accurate word to describe their disagreement with President Obama.
Herbert Spencer and Charles Darwin's words "Survival of the Fittest" plays a large role in explaining where this opposition comes from. Humans, apart from being able to logically think and form organized civilizations, are part of the Animal Kingdom. They react in ways that would make them survive or become better than others. They stick with those who most resemble them. Like a mother lioness hunts to feed and kills to protect her cubs, so do men and women go out to work in order to feed and provide security for their families. A mother lioness knows her kind and would go beyond her own limits to provide for them. By "her kind", I mean her pack, her pride, her type. She wouldn't hunt for another species of lions who don't look like her. People likewise, know their kind.
Men and women are analogous to the mother lioness example of survival that I provided. They work to support their own, and will go beyond their abilities to provide sufficient food, clothing, and shelter for those who look like them. This goes beyond family; it extends to race. Although it is difficult to acknowledge, all men and women also work hard for their ethnic groups. It is something that has been carried over from generation to generation and currently resides in our genes. Conservatives are described as having a stronger strain of this gene. They go above and beyond for their "race" and would stop at nothing to protect their creed. They enjoy simplicity, and believe that it works in our complex, but tainted, world. They perceive that everyone is inherently equal and how they live their lives is what would essentially lead to their outcomes.
Since the 1600's in America, White men treated Black men as though they were animals and enslaved them on plantations and farms. The KKK, a white only organization, which at its peak, had 5 million members, goes to prove that races tend to want to be the "fittest". They proved that they were the fittest by hanging and defiling the bodies of other men who had only slight differences from them. This "negligence" of men carried into the 20th century. Even up to the 1960's "Whites Only" and "Coloreds Only" signs on bathrooms, restaurants, and water fountains were legitimate perceptions. That was less than 50 years ago. It is only logical that small strains of this abhor carried over to the next generation. We see it in some people; we see it in these conservatives.
Barack Obama is Black. Conservatives, by definition of the word, want to keep things as the past has produced it. They want to keep the Presidents White, like them. They want to do anything, and would force their minds to accept anything that would bring down the person who competes above their level. Some of you may say that conservatives are not only white, but I tell you all water is not clean. There are certain impurities, if you will, among the purpose of conservatism.
These birthers and tea baggers should be forgiven, for it is the evolutionary process that has failed them. "They know not what they do," as it was put by Jesus when the men were about to crucify him for teaching love, sums up how I feel about them. I forgive them. I do not hate them. May the Lord deliver them from the bondages of their past.
